Cheers to Choice embodies the celebration of a woman's right to choose her destiny and live in a community that respects her choices without hindering her personal and professional growth through violence, sexism, racism, economic discrimination, or discriminating policies. Proceeds will benefit YWTF: DC's work throughout the year.
This is an opportunity to socialize with other great DC people for a great cause! Enjoy wine, hors d'oeuvres, and special guests including keynote speaker Angel Brown of Metro TeenAIDS, as well as Ariana Childs Graham of SIECUS and Elizabeth Saracco of Helping Individual Prostitutes Survive (HIPS). We will be holding a raffle with the chance to win prizes such as gift certificates to Clyde's and La Tasca, a free self-defense class, a wine tasting, and much more. Stay tuned for more event details!
We will also be accepting donations of new socks and underwear for HIPS (Helping Individual Prostitutes Survive), a local organization of wonderful people that work to assist sex workers in Washington, DC in leading healthy lives -- striving to address the impact that HIV/AIDS, STIs, discrimination, poverty, violence and drug use have on their lives. With the HIV rate in DC being the highest in the country, this is a very timely and urgent cause! Get two free raffle tickets when you bring a donation for HIPS!
You can buy your ticket online or at the door. If you choose to pay at the door, we ask that you register online to receive the pre-pay discount of $5 off regular prices.
